September 2026 Update

Following the buyout of British Steel Pension Scheme (BSPS) members’ benefits on 31 March 2026, the Trustee has now completed the formalities to wind-up the Scheme.

All members’ benefits have been bought out with Legal & General and the remaining surplus (after reserving for winding-up costs and expenses) has been used to secure additional benefits for members with Legal & General.

Legal & General will write to members during September 2026 confirming the benefits payable (including any share of surplus distribution).
