As part of the Trustee’s ongoing work to strengthen the Scheme’s governance framework, a formal Privacy Policy has been created setting out the Trustee’s commitment to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 to ensure the safe and appropriate use of the personal information it holds in respect of individuals.
The Policy outlines the type of personal information held, how it is obtained, how it is used, and how it is stored. It also details the circumstances under which the Trustee might share personal information with third parties, such as with the Scheme’s professional advisers, and Data Protection agreements are already in place for these relationships. Where the Scheme provides personal information to a third party with whom there is no existing relationship, appropriate confidentiality and data protection clauses are included in each contract.
